Why Invisalign?
First of all, if you have uneven teeth, it’s important to get them straightened. Not only do crooked teeth and gaps cause people to be self-conscious, but they can have a significant effect on oral health. Straight teeth are stronger, more efficient and easier to clean.
Most adults are reluctant to seek out the orthodontia because they want to avoid the discomfort and unflattering appearance with metal braces. If this describes the source of your own trepidation, we have good news for you. Our Issaquah dentist offers several effective alternatives that solve many of the problems of traditional braces, including Invisalign®.
Invisalign® Custom Aligners
Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing aligners will gradually shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you.
Ultimately, there are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.
Get Straighter Teeth
There are other options for straightening your teeth, but none offers the level of comfort, convenience and confidence that you’ll find with Invisalign. No matter what stage you’re at in life, you’ll appreciate how our modern approach to treatment has minimal interference in your life. It has a significant positive impact on how you look and feel about yourself.

A Customized Treatment Plan Created for You
First, your dentist will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, which Invisalign will use to create a digital 3D image. From these images your doctor will map out a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth, and tell you the approximate length of treatment.
In addition, using the same technology your doctor will be able to show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move with each stage of treatment. While every case is unique to each patient, treatment typically takes approximately a year for adults. For teens the length of treatments is comparable to that of braces.
If you’re bothered by the appearance of metal braces, Invisalign may be just what you’re looking for. They come in the form of a near-invisible aligner, custom-built to fit your teeth and gently guide them back into their proper places. You’ll be given a new set of aligners every two to six weeks as your teeth shift until you have achieved optimal alignment.
Most importantly, Invisalign aligners are comfortable and easy to remove. You can brush, floss, and eat all of your favorite foods as usual.
